At this time, coal industry units are entering the 90-day-and-night peak emulation drive in the fourth quarter, focusing on increasing output, improving productivity and ensuring safety, with the goal of exceeding their annual plans and contributing to Quang Ninh City’s growth target of more than 13%.
In the final 90 days of the year, Deo Nai - Coc Sau Coal Joint Stock Company is striving to produce more than 500,000 tonnes of coal, bringing its full-year output to around 2.1 million tonnes. To achieve this target, the company is focusing on production management, effective use of equipment, appropriate workforce organisation, stronger technical management and proactive handling of difficulties arising during mining operations.
At Cua Ong Coal Preparation Company, the fourth-quarter 90-day-and-night emulation drive is also being implemented with specific targets. The company is striving to process more than 2.6 million tonnes of clean coal and sell more than 2.3 million tonnes in the final three months of the year. If the fourth-quarter target is achieved, the company’s full-year coal sales are expected to reach nearly 12 million tonnes, almost 2 million tonnes above the target set at the beginning of the year.
Production results in the first nine months and the fourth-quarter plan show that the coal industry has a foundation for accelerating in the final months of the year. Clean coal output in the first nine months reached 28.3 million tonnes, equivalent to 80.1% of the annual plan. Full-year clean coal output in 2026 is expected to reach around 36.9 million tonnes, nearly 2 million tonnes higher than the target set at the beginning of the year.
This is an important resource for Quang Ninh City’s economy, not only generating production value but also making a major contribution to the budget and maintaining jobs and incomes for workers. Therefore, the task in the final stretch of the year is not only to increase output, but also to organise production efficiently, control costs, ensure occupational safety, protect the environment and use resources economically.
To support the coal industry in fulfilling its tasks, Quang Ninh City continues to maintain coordination mechanisms with the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group and its member units, promptly addressing difficulties and obstacles arising during production. This helps create favourable conditions for businesses to maintain stable production, employment and incomes for workers.
The final 90 days of the year are the decisive stretch for the coal industry to fulfil its 2026 production and business targets. The simultaneous acceleration by units across the industry, effective use of equipment capacity, rational production organisation and safety assurance will make an important contribution to Quang Ninh City’s growth target of more than 13%. The emulation drive also carries practical significance in the run-up to the 90th anniversary of the Mining Area Workers’ Traditional Day - Coal Industry Traditional Day.
