At the start of the shift, workers at Duong Huy Coal scan their faces via AI-powered cameras for attendance and to confirm they have received their production orders. At the checkpoint before entering the pit, another scan is conducted, enabling foremen to instantly track on their smartphones who has received orders and who has entered the mine, making it easier to manage headcount and supervise the shift.
For a company with a workforce of over 3,400 employees, this method ensures labor management is both convenient and precise.
Building on shift-level management, Duong Huy Coal is integrating digital technology into multiple operational stages. The company has implemented centralized control at the weighbridge, operations center, and along conveyor belts; linked the SP3 mine gas monitoring system to track safety parameters in real time; and progressively automated various electro-mechanical processes.
