On the afternoon of August 2, in Bai Chay Ward, the organising committee of the Ha Long Heritage International Marathon, together with Li-Ning, announced the 2026 edition of the event. The marathon will take place from November 20–22, with the main race scheduled for November 22.
Building on the success of previous seasons, the Ha Long Heritage International Marathon continues to affirm its reputation as the only race in Vietnam awarded the World Athletics Label Road Race status by World Athletics. This recognition reflects the event’s organisational quality and compliance with international standards, while opening up opportunities to attract growing numbers of elite athletes and members of the international running community to Ha Long.
According to the organising committee, the 2026 event is expected to attract around 18,000 athletes, including approximately 5,000 international participants, the largest number in its 11 seasons. Athletes will compete in four standard distances: 42.195km, 21.0975km, 10km and 5km.
The start and finish lines will be located at the Quang Ninh Exhibition of Planning and Expo Center on Tran Quoc Nghien Street. The course has been designed and optimised, while roads along the route will be closed to traffic in both directions. This will ensure safety, enable athletes to deliver their best performances and offer them a distinctive experience as they run amid the magnificent scenery of the Ha Long Bay World Natural Heritage Site.
The Ha Long Heritage International Marathon, in partnership with Li-Ning, is expected to continue establish itself as a distinctive sports tourism product of Quang Ninh.
