Yen Tu Spring Festival 2026 opens

On February 26, the 10th day of the first lunar month, the Yen Tu Spring Festival officially opened at Truc Lam Palace in the Yen Tu Complex of Monuments and Landscapes. This is the first festival season since the Yen Tu – Vinh Nghiem – Con Son, Kiep Bac Complex of Monuments and Landscapes was inscribed by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage site.

On the morning of February 26, thousands of people attended the opening ceremony. Traditional rituals, including the palanquin procession, drum beating, bell ringing and prayers for peace and blessings, were conducted in a solemn atmosphere on a larger scale than in previous years. Festive activities will continue through the end of the third lunar month, featuring a series of cultural and spiritual activities such as an exhibition on Truc Lam Yen Tu Buddhism, a display of Tran Dynasty artefacts, an OCOP fair, a culinary festival, a folk cultural experience space themed “Heritage Spring - Tet at Nuong Village”, and a special large-scale art programme expected to draw around 10,000 audiences. The Yen Tu Spring Festival is one of the largest spring festivals in Quang Ninh, lasting throughout the first three lunar months. It provides an opportunity to promote the World Cultural Heritage site’s outstanding universal value and spread the pride in Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac Complex of Monuments and Landscapes to domestic and international visitors.
