As part of efforts to promote advance sustainable development, on June 11, the Quang Ninh Tourism Association, in coordination with the Vietnam Tourism Association, held a workshop to introduce and promote the implementation of the “VITA Green Tourism” Criteria developed by the Vietnam Tourism Association.
At the workshop, representatives of the Vietnam Tourism Association introduced the VITA GREEN Tourism Certification Criteria and highlighted the significance and value of the certification for tourism businesses in Quang Ninh in their operations and business activities.
The adoption of green tourism criteria is expected to enhance the attractiveness of destinations while contributing to the effective implementation of Vietnam’s green growth objectives. Participation in the programme will also help businesses optimise operating costs, improve the quality of products and services, strengthen sustainable branding efforts, protect the environment, and generate positive benefits for local communities.
During the workshop, participating businesses and organisations exchanged views, discussed practical issues and reached consensus on several key priorities to ensure the effective implementation of the criteria in the coming period.
