On March 5, Quang Ninh’s Vice Chairman Le Van Anh chaired a briefing on the pilot implementation of regular weekend customs clearance at the cargo control channel (Bac Luan II Bridge area) of the Dongxing–Mong Cai international border gate, starting from March 7, 2026.
To better meet the needs of businesses, the Commerce and Border Port Administration of Dongxing City, Guangxi, China, has proposed piloting customs clearance during weekends, with operating hours from 08:00 to 11:00 and 14:00 to 17:00 (Hanoi time), equivalent to 09:00 to 12:00 and 15:00 to 18:00 (Beijing time).
The pilot weekend customs clearance is a concrete outcome of agreements reached during the Spring Meeting Programme between the Secretaries of five Vietnamese Provincial Party Committees (including Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Lang Son, Cao Bang, Tuyen Quang) and the Secretary of the Party Committee of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China), as well as the Joint Working Committee Conference of those provinces and cities of the two sides. This initiative is expected to strengthen cooperation at border gates, promote bilateral trade, reduce logistics costs for businesses, and create additional momentum for economic and trade development between Quang Ninh and Guangxi in particular, and between Viet Nam and China in general.
