On February 23 (the seventh day of the first lunar month), the Tien Cong Festival 2026 took place at the Tien Cong Communal House, a National Historical Site in Phong Coc Ward, in a solemn and respectful atmosphere, reflecting the traditional cultural identity of the Ha Nam island area.
A highlight of the festival was the ceremonial procession of elders to the Tien Cong Communal House to offer incense in in tribute to the ancestors who first reclaimed and settled the land. A total of 35 senior residents aged 80 and above were were ceremonially escorted to the communal house on the main festival day. Earlier, on February 22, a similar procession was organised with the participation of 204 elders. In total, 239 seniors residents were honored in this year’s festival rituals.
According to the Organizing Committee, among the 239 honoured elders, 195 turned 80, 37 turned 90 and seven reached the age of 100. During the festival days, the event was estimated to attract around 100,000 visitor arrivals.
