Van Don Special Administrative Zone launches and inaugurates 15 key development projects

On December 29, the Van Don Special Administrative Zone held a ceremony to break ground, inaugurate completed works, and open technical traffic for 15 state-funded projects in celebration of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party.

The package includes 12 newly launched projects and three projects that were inaugurated, technically opened to traffic, or structurally completed, with a combined investment exceeding VND 2.3 trillion.

Among the newly launched projects are a bridge spanning the Mang river channel, linking Minh Chau-Quan Lan Island with Ban Sen Island (VND 553.5 billion; 20-month construction period), a service road along the main central axis of the Cai Rong urban area (over VND 198 billion, 240-day duration), the construction of a new Cai Rong market (VND 147 billion, 330-day duration), and the second phase of Ha Long Secondary School (over VND 168 billion, 360-day duration).

These major projects rolled out simultaneously across transport, urban development, commerce, education, technical infrastructure, and environmental protection aim to contribute to Van Don ‘s modern, integrated infrastructure network. These investments are expected to improve regional connectivity, narrow geographic gaps, facilitate trade and tourism, and strengthen the area’s appeal to investors.

At the ceremony, local leaders underscored that the projects reflect strong political commitment, a proactive and innovative approach, and the determination of the Party Committee and authorities of Van Don to translate national and provincial policies into tangible outcomes.

The Van Don Special Administrative Zone also reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with investors and businesses, accelerating administrative reforms to create an open and transparent investment environment, and mobilizing resources effectively to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and to high quality standards.
