The Van Don Orange Festival 2025 will take place on December 13-14, offering not only a vibrant celebration of the region’s iconic agricultural brand but also a delightful getaway for visitors seeking rural beauty, community-based tourism, and immersive island culture.
The festival is expected to draw large crowds, helping to highlight local strengths and diversify high-quality tourism products in the area.
Van Don has currently cultivated 271 hectares of oranges, with Van Yen Commune accounting for the largest area, 170 hectares, and an estimated output of 600 tons in 2025.
The district has recently strongly promoted the Van Yen orange brand, turning it into a signature local product linked with experiential tourism. This brand has stood among Quang Ninh’s most popular OCOP specialties, favored by consumers both inside and outside the province.
This year’s festival promises a bigger, more creative, and more exciting experience. Around 15-20 booths, designed in a charming “traditional countryside market” style, will showcase Van Yen oranges alongside OCOP products and other local specialties. Visitors will also enjoy diverse cultural performances, culinary activities, and traditional experiences.
The Van Don Orange Festival 2025 not only promotes the Van Yen orange brand and enhances product value, but also creates commercial opportunities, helps increase farmers’ incomes, and fosters the integration of agriculture with community tourism. It further encourages the preservation of native orange varieties while reinforcing Van Don’s strengths and shaping a sustainable tourism future.
At this time of year, orange orchards across the district are turning a brilliant shade of gold, ready to welcome guests. Farmers are busy decorating their gardens and preparing to greet visitors.
“Our family grows around 3 hectares of oranges, expected to yield 7–9 tons this season, enough to supply the festival and fulfill market demand. While harvesting for traders, we’re also beautifying the orchard for tourists. Many visitors have already come to experience the gardens and take photos. Thanks to the annual festival, our orange sales are better, and we have additional income from local OCOP products”, said Tran Danh Dai at 10/10 hamlet.
According to Standing Vice Chairman of the Van Don District People’s Committee, Dao Van Vu, the festival is expected to become a key attraction drawing tourists to Van Don during the year-end season.
Together with the orange festival, Van Don will also host a cherry blossom festival in February 2026, enriching spring tourism offerings and promoting the district’s cherry blossom trade. These initiatives honor local culture and agriculture while strengthening distinctive tourism brands, affirming Van Don’s status as a “four-season destination” in Quang Ninh province.
