On October 27, in Mong Cai Ward 1, the Quang Ninh Economic Zone Authority, in collaboration with several provincial departments and localities, held a meeting with a delegation from the People’s Government of Dongxing City under Fangchenggang City, Guangxi (China) to discuss cooperation on border gate economic development.
During the talks, both sides exchanged views and agreed to strengthen coordination in building the Mong Cai (Vietnam) - Dongxing (China) Smart Border Gate, developing a cross-border industrial cooperation zone, and promoting trade, immigration, and border gate management activities. The two parties also discussed mechanisms for joint investment promotion, infrastructure connectivity, and information sharing to support cross-border trade and economic growth between the two localities.
Before the meeting, the delegations conducted field surveys at key locations including Bac Luan I Bridge, Bac Luan II Bridge, Hai Yen Industrial Park, and Van Ninh General Port. These strategic sites are essential to forming a smart border gate system and logistics hub at the border area.
The meeting took place in a friendly and open atmosphere, reflecting the determination of both sides to deepen practical and effective cooperation, with the shared goal of transforming the Mong Cai (Vietnam) - Dongxing (China) border gate area into a model of modern cross-border development and seamless connectivity between the two nations.
This event further concretizes the cooperation agreement between Quang Ninh Province and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, while opening up new opportunities for trade, investment, and sustainable economic development along the Vietnam-China border in the near future.
