The Song Mun Festival 2026 will take place on March 21–22, in Khay Phau Village, Quang Duc Commune.
The festival is a distinctive traditional cultural event of the Dao Thanh Y ethnic group. It not only conveys wishes for peace and good fortune for the community, but also contributes to preserving and promoting ethnic cultural identity. According to the plan, the opening ceremony will feature the “Song Mun” ritual at the shrine, praying for favourable weather, abundant harvests and peaceful lives for local residents, along with welcome performances and a cap sac ritual dance.
Throughout the festival, a variety of traditional cultural and sporting activities will be held, including a Dao Thanh Y women’s hair styling contest, a traditional embroidery competition, a pandan leaf horn-blowing contest, tug of war, and a contest for making hom cakes wrapped in pandan leaves. The festive programme will also feature dual love singing, a Dao Thanh Y traditional costume beauty contest, a display of ethnic cuisine trays, folk games… creating a vibrant space for cultural exchange and community engagement for visitors.
