A US-based beach ranking organisation has released the annual Corona Beach 100 Global Beach Guide 2026. Soi Sim Beach, located on a small island in the core zone of Ha Long Bay, has been honoured with inclusion in this year’s list.
The 2026 edition spans 22 countries and welcomes 27 newly added beaches, including one from Viet Nam. The selected destinations were evaluated based on scenic beauty, beach culture and their connection with nature.
Representing Viet Nam on the list, Soi Sim Beach is situated in the core area of Ha Long Bay. Covering approximately 8.7 hectares, it lies about 12 kilometres from Tuan Chau International Cruise Port. The beach remains largely unspoiled and is often likened to a “rough gem” nestled in the heart of the World Heritage site. The name Soi Sim originates from the rose myrtle trees that grow abundantly across the island’s hillsides. Visitors arriving between May and August can admire hills blanketed in blooming purple rose myrtle flowers, with blossoms cascading along pathways and creating a particularly picturesque landscape.
Soi Sim Beach’s inclusion in the Corona Beach 100 Global Beach Guide 2026 further highlights the appeal of Quang Ninh tourism in general and Ha Long Bay in particularly on the international tourism map. It also reflects the effectiveness of efforts to conserve and promote heritage values in tandem with the development of green and sustainable tourism.
