Quang Ninh welcomed over 120,000 tourist arrivals last weekend

Quang Ninh greeted more than 12,000 travellers last Saturday and Sunday, according to the Department of Tourism.

Summer is an ideal time for parents to take their children who are on summer break, for vacations. In Quang Ninh, many destinations and entertainment venues have been full of tourists.

Accordingly, Ha Long Bay welcomed about 41,000 visitors, including 35,000 domestic visitors and 6,600 foreign ones.

Ha Long Sunworld Recreational Park greeted over 50,000 ones, Quang Ninh Museum nearly 20,000 ones, etc.

Phan Thi Thu Hang, a visitor from Hanoi showed her satisfaction about her family’s trip to Ha Long, adding that the tourism infrastructure in this place made it really convenient for them to enjoy their holiday and security and service quality were ensured.

In order to lure visitors, over the years, Quang Ninh has renovated its tourism services in accordance to international standards, while enhancing the quality of local cruise ships, and paying greater attention to environmental protection.

Besides, the province has introduced many new tourism products such as a heritage tour on cruise ships and music performances on Ha Long Bay.

Located in the northeast of Vietnam, Ha Long Bay covers 1,550 square kilometers, with 1,969 islands. The UNESCO-recognized area is 434 square kilometers, forming a triangle with Dau Go Island to the west, Ba Ham Lake to the south, and Cong Tay Island to the east.

The bay has recently listed among 24 travel destinations worldwide for 2024 by New York-based OvationNetwork and 51 most beautiful places in the world by Condé Nast Traveler, a luxury and lifestyle travel magazine.

Quang Ninh province is home to over 620 historical, cultural and tourist attractions. Of these, there are three special national relics: Ha Long Bay, Yen Tu historical relic in Uong Bi city and Bach Dang historical relic in Quang Yen town. Additionally, the locality houses a number of classic relics that include the royal tombs of Tran Kings, Cua Ong temple, Tra Co communal house, Cai Bau pagoda, Truc Lam Giac Tam Zen monastery and Long Tien pagoda.

In its newly-approved plan on tourism recovery and sustainable development to 2025 with orientations to 2030, Quang Ninh aims to turn tourism into a spearhead and sustainable economic sector and attract at least 25.5 - 26 million visitors, including about 8.6 - 9 million foreigners, by 2030. It targets between 16 million and 17.5 million tourist arrivals by 2024 and 2025, including at least 3 to 4.5 million international guests, respectively.
