On August 3, the Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee and the Global Technology - Telecommunications Corporation (GTEL) under the Ministry of Public Security signed a strategic cooperation agreement on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and digital transformation during the 2026–2030 period.
Under the agreement, the two sides will strengthen cooperation with data as the foundation and digital technology and innovation as the driving forces. They will focus on researching and developing digital infrastructure, data infrastructure, cloud computing and digital platforms serving the development of digital government, the digital economy and digital society. They will also coordinate in researching solutions to ensure cyber security and safety, developing ecosystems for innovation and digital economy, and promoting comprehensive digital transformation across various sectors.
Quang Ninh’s Chairman Bui Van Khang emphasised that the cooperation agreement is a crucial step to concretize Politburo Resolution No. 57 on the development of science and technology, innovation and national digital transformation. He called on the two sides to promptly formulate a detailed implementation plan; prioritisz the development, connection and effective exploitation of databases; ensure information security; study the establishment of a data centre; and develop digital infrastructure and artificial intelligence applications to serve governance and administration, digital economic development and improved services for citizens and businesses.
