The Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee has approved a scheme on Protecting, sustainably exploiting and promoting the values of the Ha Long Bay - Yen Tu World Heritage site in connection with Bai Tu Long Bay”.
The scheme aims to develop an interregional heritage ecosystem that combines sustainable conservation with the effective exploitation of heritage values, while turning the heritage economy into a new driver of provincial growth. By 2030, all data on heritage, environment and tourism infrastructure will be digitised; the carrying capacities of all tourist attractions will be monitored; and all tourism-related transactions will be cashless. Quang Ninh also aims to welcome around 10–11 million tourist arrivals to Ha Long Bay and Bai Tu Long Bay and approximately 4 million tourist arrivals to Yen Tu each year, helping transform Quang Ninh into a world-class centre for the heritage economy, culture and tourism.
