Over 13,500 athletes compete in Halong Bay Heritage Marathon 2024
More than 13,500 runners, including more than 1,300 international athletes from 55 countries took part in the Halong Bay Heritage Marathon 2024. This event marks the 10th season since the Ha Long Heritage Marathon first graced Việt Nam in 2014.
Aiming to create a "healthy and positive environment where running enthusiasts can challenge themselves", the Halong Bay Heritage Marathon is a popular race in Vietnam, in the UNESCO-recognized Halong Bay.
The race starts and finishes in the Fair and Exhibition Quang Ninh province. The route passes through stunning scenery and many points of local interest. Interesting sites on the course include Bai Chay Bridge, Tuan Chau Beach and Quang Ninh Museum.
The Halong Bay Heritage Marathon is a renowned race on the international marathon map and has received the blessing of the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races and World Athletics.
The Ha Long Bay Heritage Marathon has been recognised by Runner's World UK Magazine as one of the 50 most beautiful courses in the world, adhering to AIMS standards. This year, it proudly serves as the closing event of the 24th AIMS World Congress — the first of its kind held in Vietnam.
The Halong Bay Heritage Marathon started in 2015 and offers a wide range of distance options, including a 42km Full Marathon, a 21km Half Marathon, a 10km race, and a 4.2km Fun Run.
