On April 2, Quang Ninh’s Chairman Bui Van Khang held a working session with President and Director of the Northeast Maritime Institute (USA) Eric R. Dawicki regarding a proposal to study investment in the Con Ong - Hon Net port project.
At the meeting, Mr. Eric R. Dawicki proposed conducting research and pursuing investment in the development of the port in line with global standards, aiming to build this port into the leading modern and synchronised seaports in Viet Nam, serving as an important gateway for trade between Viet Nam and the United States.
Concluding the session, Quang Ninh’s Chairman Bui Van Khang requested relevant departments, sectors and localities to closely coordinate with the institute to further specify, supplement and continue studying investment ideas for the project. He encouraged the institute to continue its research and advance investment initiatives to develop Con Ong - Hon Net port to international standards, making it one of Viet Nam’s leading modern and synchronised seaports.
