On September 9, the Quang Ninh Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, together with FLC Hotels & Resorts, met with South Korea’s Baekseok Group to prepare for the Grand Slam project, a major cultural, sports, and tourism festival scheduled for November in Quang Ninh.
The program will feature a diverse lineup of events, including the International Businesswomen’s Beauty Pageant, concerts with popular Korean artists, fashion shows, and an international marathon.
Baekseok Group, a South Korean conglomerate active in culture, entertainment, and international trade, has organized numerous high-profile festivals that draw entrepreneurs, artists, and leading influencers.
During the working session, Quang Ninh officials highlighted the province’s strengths as a destination such as breathtaking landscapes, robust infrastructure, and excellent connectivity.
Home to two UNESCO world heritage sites, Ha Long Bay and Yen Tu, Quang Ninh also offers a wide range of premium tourism products that appeal strongly to Korean travelers.
The two sides discussed organizational details such as venues, schedules, administrative procedures, and the formation of a joint task force. The project also delivers on commitments made during a recent courtesy meeting between Quang Ninh Party Secretary Vu Dai Thang and former South Korean Ambassador to Vietnam Park Noh Wan. It is expected to deepen cultural and tourism exchanges between Quang Ninh and South Korea’s Saemangeum coastal economic zone.
The festival follows Quang Ninh’s promotional efforts in South Korea earlier this year and is seen as a key step in attracting more international visitors while strengthening the province’s profile as a leading regional and global tourism hub.
