Notably, the festive atmosphere at the Halong Marina urban area in Bai Chay Ward reached a peak as tens of thousands of residents, visitors, and children gathered for the Bai Chay Mid-Autumn Festival - Thu Fest 2026 under the theme "Shining with Quang Ninh City".

Beyond its grand scale, the festival reinterpreted traditional values through a giant, nearly 200-kg mooncake, the Halo Bay Show water music performance, dazzling high-altitude fireworks, and a lantern procession featuring 120 creatively decorated float models. Comprising nearly 50 food stalls, folk games, and interactive zones, the festival served as a cultural rendezvous for multiple generations, allowing adults to reconnect with childhood memories while offering children unforgettable experiences.

This festive spirit also resonated warmly in Ha Lam Ward, gathering 300 students for a dedicated Mid-Autumn night, and at the "Heritage Mid-Autumn - Yen Tu Moon Festival 2026" at the grounds of Trình pagoda, which drew over 5,000 participants. These events seamlessly blended childhood joy with historical and cultural values, fostering a sense of hometown pride among the youth.

Behind the illuminated stages and children's laughter lies the dedicated collaboration of local Party committees, authorities, and society in safeguarding, caring for, and educating the younger generation.

Nurturing young shoots through practical initiatives

Child welfare efforts in Quang Ninh extend well beyond festive celebrations, materializing in practical measures targeted at children in remote areas, borderlands, islands, and those facing exceptional hardships.

The city has organized visits and distributed nearly 9,000 gifts totaling over 6.62 billion VND to children with disabilities, orphans, hospitalized minors, and disadvantaged students since the beginning of the year. The Quang Ninh Children's Support Fund has mobilized hundreds of millions of dong, while sponsorship initiatives backed by numerous agencies and enterprises have established robust material and morale support systems for youngsters.

Additionally, youth union chapters and local authorities across the city have strongly mobilized social resources to provide thousands of gifts, scholarships, bicycles, and to construct community recreational and reading spaces. Key highlights include the City Youth Union mobilizing 4,000 gifts and establishing community activity hubs; Hong Gai Ward distributing over 1,400 gifts valued at more than 1.3 billion VND; alongside targeted support programs in Mong Cai, Thong Nhat, and the Co To Special Zone (Thanh Lan Island).
