Less vibrant and bustling than summer, autumn and early winter in Quang Ninh offer a quieter, more peaceful charm, stretching from its warm coastal waters to its majestic highlands and borderlands.

In the final months of the year, visitors can enjoy a range of seaside activities, including kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), speedboat rides, and watching the sunrise and sunset. In the highland areas of Luc Hon, Binh Lieu and Hoanh Mo, trekking through forests and mountains, visiting border markers and exploring terraced rice fields at harvest time offer distinctive experiences. In October and November, golden rice fields, hills blanketed in white silvergrass and mist drifting across the mountains enhance the seasonal beauty of the highlands.

Visitors can also immerse themselves in the Golden Season Festival, savour local specialities, explore the cultural traditions of ethnic communities and discover vibrant borderland markets.

Meanwhile, Yen Tu takes on a serene and contemplative atmosphere in autumn and early winter. Pilgrimages, meditation, cloud-chasing hikes and sunrise views from Dong Pagoda offer moments of tranquillity amid this sacred Buddhist landscape. The peaks of Phuong Hoang and Binh Huong also captivate visitors with their grassy slopes, pine forests and picturesque sunrises and sunsets.

Quang Ninh is beautiful throughout the year, but autumn and early winter have a distinctive allure of their own-gentle yet evocative, inviting visitors to explore the region at a more leisurely pace.
