On the morning of September 25, Deputy Secretary of the Quang Ninh City Party Committee and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Ninh City, Vu Quyet Tien, held a working session with the Standing Committee of the City Association of the Elderly to discuss the implementation of the 7th National Congress Resolution of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly in conjunction with the Resolution of the 16th Congress of the Quang Ninh City Party Organisation, as well as activities marking the International Day of Older Persons (October 1), Action Month for Vietnamese older persons and key tasks for the remaining months of 2026.
In his concluding remarks, Deputy Secretary of the Quang Ninh City Party Committee and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Ninh City, Vu Quyet Tien, Vu Quyet Tien, acknowledged the proactive efforts, sense of responsibility and initial results achieved by the City Association of the Elderly following its restructuring under the new model. He asked the association to continue strengthening its organisation, complete grassroots-level congresses, renew its content and methods of operation, and step up the application of technology and digital transformation.
He also called for the full implementation of policies and greater attention to the healthcare and material and spiritual well-being of older persons while promoting their role in Party and government building, traditional education, building a civilised urban environment and promoting socio-economic development. Activities marking the International Day of Older Persons and the Action Month for Vietnamese Older Persons should be practical and mobilise social resources to care for older persons.
On the occasion of the International Day of Older Persons, the Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Vu Quyet Tien extended his greetings and wishes for good health, happiness and longevity to generations of older persons, as well as officials and members of the City Association of the Elderly.
