On January 27, Comrade To Lam, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, paid a visit and had a working session with Quang Ninh Province. This was the first official working trip led by the General Secretary following the successful conclusion of the 14th National Party Congress, demonstrating the Central Committee’s special attention to Quang Ninh and reaffirming the province’s role, position and significant contributions to national development.

During the working session, after listening to a briefing on Quang Ninh’s key areas of work, proposals and recommendations, as well as comments from members of the Party Central Committee, General Secretary To Lam expressed his confidence that, with a spirit of unity, discipline and creativity, along with the determination to think boldly, act decisively and take responsibility for the common good, Quang Ninh would continue to take the lead in realizing the Party’s major guidelines. He emphasized that the province would maintain its positionas one of the country’s leading localities and gradually become a model of green, modern, innovative and internationally integrated development, thereby making increasingly significant contributions to national development and living up to the trust of the Central Committee and the people nationwide.

At the working session, Comrade Quan Minh Cuong, Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee, on behalf of the Provincial Standing Party Committee reported to the General Secretary and the delegation on the province’s notable achievements in socio-economic development, national defense and security, organizational restructuring within the political system, and the implementation of resolutions of the Party Central Committee.

General Secretary To Lam acknowledged and highly appreciated the achievements attained by the Party organization, authorities and people of Quang Ninh, affirming that these results were not short-term achievements but the culmination of a consistent and sustained reform process, marked by a spirit of determination, innovation and a strong sense of responsibility for the common good.

During the working session, the Party and the State leaders provided extensive consultation and suggestionsto help Quang Ninh continue to develop its economy and society in a rapid, robust and sustainable manner, enhance investment attraction, especially in key sectors such as services, tourism, green industry and green energy.

Additional suggestions were also made regarding strengthening regional and inter-regional coordination, especially cooperation with neighboring localities and the capital city of Hanoi.

General Secretary To Lam expressed his firm belief that, with unity, discipline and creativity, together with the determination to think boldly, act decisively and take responsibility for the common good, Quang Ninh would continue to take the lead in implementing the Party’s major guidelines, maintain its position as a leading locality, and gradually become a model of green, modern, innovative and internationally integrated development.

Earlier, on the morning of January 27, Party General Secretary To Lam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the working delegation offered incense at the National Historical Site commemorating President Ho Chi Minh’s visit to Deo Nai Coal Mine on March 30, 1959. They visited the open-pit mining site of Deo Nai – Coc Sau Coal Joint Stock Company and extended Lunar New Year greetings to coal miners.
