HCMC to close 20 central roads for National Day firework shows
HCMC will close many central roads on Monday evening to ensure safety during the National Day celebrations which will feature firework displays and other festivities.
Fireworks will be launched for 15 minutes from 9 p.m. at two locations: the entrance of the Saigon River Tunnel in Thu Duc City and Dam Sen Cultural Park in District 11.
Additionally, artistic performances will be held on Nguyen Hue Walking Street.
To maintain order and ease congestion in the city center, vehicles will be banned from entering 20 central roads from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
These roads are Nguyen Hue, Le Loi (from Dong Khoi to Pasteur), Dong Khoi (from Nguyen Du to Ton Duc Thang), Ton Duc Thang (from Nguyen Sieu to Vo Van Kiet), Nguyen Tat Thanh (from Khanh Hoi Bridge to Hoang Dieu), and Ham Nghi (from Ho Tung Mau to Ton Duc Thang), Hai Trieu, Ton That Thiep, Huynh Thuc Khang (from Ho Tung Mau to Nguyen Hue), Ly Tu Trong (from Pasteur to Hai Ba Trung), Le Thanh Ton (from Hai Ba Trung to Pasteur), Lam Son Square, Dong Du (from Hai Ba Trung to Dong Khoi), Nguyen Thiep (from Dong Khoi to Nguyen Hue), and Mac Thi Buoi (from Hai Ba Trung to Nguyen Hue).
Additionally, roads surrounding Me Linh Square will be closed, including: Hai Ba Trung, parts of Phan Van Dat, Ngo Duc Ke, Ho Huan Nghiep and Thi Sach, as well as the Ba Son Bridge that connects Districts 1 and 2, and Khanh Hoi Bridge in District 4.
For this year’s National Day, Vietnamese take a continuous four-day break, from Saturday, Aug. 31, to Tuesday, Sept. 3.
