Making the most of its favourable climate, natural conditions and rich agricultural and forestry ecosystem, Hoanh Mo Commune is actively developing and promoting new OCOP products.
After three years of operation, the sika deer farming model developed by Nghiep Doan Agricultural and Services Cooperative has proven economically effective, with the herd now numbering up to 30 deer. Recently, three antler velvet products from the cooperative were assessed and certified as three-star OCOP products by the provincial OCOP council.
Meanwhile, the giant pumpkins grown by Binh Lieu Flower Cooperative are opening up a promising new direction. Integrating OCOP products into the community-based tourism offerings helps increase the value of agricultural products, enhance their appeal to visitors, and create additional jobs and income for local residents.
Each OCOP product contributes to effectively tapping into natural resources and indigenous culture values, transformig them into sustainable livelihoods for local people. This provides a foundation for developing the rural economy in a greener and more modern direction, contributing to the increasingly prosperous development of Quang Ninh’s mountainous border areas
