As a major tourism and service hub, Bai Chay continues to attract large numbers of visitors, particularly during cultural and tourism events and entertainment activities. Alongside maintaining existing tourism offerings, the ward has worked with businesses to organise programmes such as Thu Fest and the Halo Bay Show water music performance, develop pedestrian streets and expand nighttime entertainment and food activities. These efforts are gradually diversifying visitor experiences and catering to demand for sightseeing, holidays, shopping and entertainment. Statistics show that Bai Chay Ward welcomed approximately 7.45 million tourist arrivals in the first nine months of 2026, with tourism revenue exceeding VND 26.2 trillion, accounting for around 48% of the city’s total tourism revenue.

These positive results are laying an important foundation for the ward to achieve its socio-economic development targets for 2026.

AEON Mall Ha Long is scheduled to welcome its first customers on November 11, 2026, with the official opening ceremony expected to take place on November 14. With total investment of more than VND 5.2 trillion, the project will feature around 140 stores, offering a wide range of shopping, dining, entertainment and leisure options, alongside other amenities. Designed to combine shopping with tourism-related experiences and activities inspired by the distinctive character of the coastal city, the mall is expected to become a popular destination for local residents and visitors, contributing to the city’s overall development.

Under its development plan for 2026–2030, Bai Chay aims to become a high-quality, smart and modern tourism and service hub. By 2030, it aims to welcome more than 11 million visitor arrivals, including 4 million international visitors, and generate tourism revenue of VND 36.3 trillion. The ward also plans to work closely with strategic investors, including Sun Group, BIM Group, AEON and Lotte, as well as the wider business community, to develop distinctive, differentiated and sustainable tourism offerings. Priorities include year-round tourism, marine and island tourism offering diverse experiences, premium resort services, helicopter and seaplane services, hot-air balloon experiences and high-end commercial complexes.
