On the evening of November 7, Quang Ninh City and the Viet Nam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (VINACOMIN) held a solemn ceremony at November 12 Square in Cam Pha Ward to mark the 90th anniversary of the Traditional Day of Coal Miners and the Coal Industry (November 12, 1936-2026) and receive the third-class Labour Order. General Secretary and State President To Lam attended and delivered a speech at the event.
At the ceremony, General Secretary and State President To Lam presented the third-class Labour Order to VINACOMIN in recognition of its outstanding achievements in labour and contributions to the country’s socio-economic development.
In his congratulatory speech, General Secretary and State President To Lam acknowledged and praised the contributions of generations of coal miners and industry officials, as well as those of the Party organisation, authorities and people of Quang Ninh. He also affirmed that the tradition of “Discipline and Unity”, passed down through generations, has become an enduring value among coal miners and residents of the Mining Region.
Following the ceremony, an art programme entitled “90 Years of Epic Pride and Aspiration” brought together well-known artists, performers from central-level theatres and Ha Long University, as well as thousands of amateur performers, including workers and miners. The large-scale, modern stage featured a multi-layered LED screen system, 3D visual effects, surround sound and advanced lighting, creating an immersive, multi-dimensional performance space that combined epic grandeur with a contemporary spirit.
The 90th anniversary celebration concluded successfully, helping promote the traditions of patriotism and resilience, particularly the “Discipline and Unity” tradition among coal miners. It also paid tribute to generations of miners who sacrificed their lives and shed their blood for national independence, the revolutionary cause of building and defending socialist Viet Nam, and the development of the coal industry and Quang Ninh City.
