As one of the five largest-scale art programmes held nationwide to mark the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day on July 27, the special “Forever 20” art programme took place on July 24 at October 30 Square in Ha Long ward, attracting an audience of 40,000.
The 80-minute programme recreated the nation’s heroic historical milestones, honoured Quang Ninh’s revolutionary tradition, and paid tribute to the contributions and sacrifices made by earlier generations for national independence and freedom. A highlight was the presentation of the 500-day-and-night campaign to search for, repatriate and identify the remains of fallen soldiers, reflecting the continued sense of responsibility and gratitude and helping ease the pain left by the war and fulfil the long-held hopes of fallen soldiers’ relatives. The programme served as both a profound tribute to the immense contributions of earlier generations and an opportunity to educate younger generations about revolutionary traditions and the principle of “When drinking water, remember its source”.
