First Chinese cruise ship docks in Ha Long Bay in 2023
On November 28, Zhao Shang Yi Dun, with nearly 800 Chinese tourists, became the first Chinese cruise ship to dock at Quang Ninh province’s Ha Long International Port in 2023.
After disembarking, the tourists will visit the UNESCO heritage site of Ha Long Bay, famous for thousands of limestone karst mountains rising out of emerald waters, before going to Hanoi, around two hours east.
Then they will proceed to the central beach city of Danang before leaving for Hong Kong.
As planned, Zhao Shang Yi Dun will dock at Ha Long 14 times, carrying a total of over 12,000 visitors to Quang Ninh by March 2024.
In 2024, it is expected that more ships will bring Chinese tourists to Vietnam through Ha Long International Passenger Port. Their tours will include some famous destinations namely Ha Long Bay, Ha Long city, Yen Tu, and Hanoi capital.
So far, nearly 60 cruises carrying over 70,000 passengers have registered to dock at Ha Long International Passenger Port in 2024. Many of them are world-famous brands such as Mein Schiff 6 and 5, Celebrity Solstice, Noordam, MSC Splendida, Westerdam, etc.
