Exploring Khe Song - Thac Bac in Uong Bi city

A tour to the stream flow named Song and Bac (Silver) waterfall (Khe Song - Thac Bac) in Uong Bi city has emerged as a new trend for tourists who seek for the primitive beauty of mountain and forest.

Located at the foot of Yen Tu mountain, Khe Song-Thac Bac looks like a soft silk strip winding around the mountainside, amidst the vast and cool green mountains and forests. Local people say that the name “Khe Song” refers to one of the two branches of stream flows running from a large waterfall in the upstream area while “Thac Bac” is the name of the most beautiful waterfall here.

At the top of the Bac waterfall during the rainy season, the water source is abundant and the waterfall pours down so strongly that the light reflects on the water beautifully and sparklingly.

The journey to explore Khe Song - Thac Bac is not too difficult. The waterfall is gentle, not too high, and has steps built for visitors to walk conveniently.

Visitors can wade across the stream and explore each level of waterfall. From the top of the mountain up to a hundred meters high, there are 10 waterfall levels for visitors to explore. The soothing sound of the stream is harmonized with the quiet space of the great forest, making the journey more relaxing.

Apart from natural beauty, visitors also have the opportunity to enjoy local cuisine such as stream fish and free range chicken and many other special dishes prepared by local people.

In the bathing pools halfway up the waterfall, there are flat areas or stilt houses for visitors to rest, sightsee or arrange small meals after bathing in the stream.

From Khe Song - Thac Bac, visitors can stop by to visit the Da Trang stream area, Yen Tu flower valley and the Dao ethnic people's conservation area not far away or visit Yen Trung lake, Yen Tu relic site situated about 4km away.

Khe Song - Thac Bac is located only 100km from Hanoi, about 40km from the center of Ha Long city. From National Highway 18, tourists turn to Khe Su 2 village, Thuong Yen Cong commune, Uong Bi city. The convenient traffic route allows visitors to travel by motorbike or car easily. When exploring the waterfall, tourists shoudld prepare neat clothes for safe and convenient travel.
