On May 9 and 10, Luc Hon Communal People’s Committee organised an experiential tour to Cao Xiem Mountain. The activity aims to develop a model tour, while surveying, evaluating and promoting the trekking product to conquer Cao Xiem Peak, which stands at 1,429m-high and is known as the “roof” of Quang Ninh Province.
Passing through vast forests of star anise fand tea-oil camellia deep in the great wilderness of Luc Hon, the journey to conquer Cao Xiem offers visitors an exciting trekking experience in pristine nature. In addition to reaching the “roof” of Quang Ninh, cloud hunting and overnight camping at an altitude of 1,429m, visitors can also immerse themselves in indigenous cultural spaces with “then” singing, “Soong Co” folk songs and traditional cuisine of highland ethnic communities. During the organisation of the tour, the locality also pays close attention to environmental protection, minimising impacts on natural forests and raising visitors’ awareness of conservation.

Developed in the direction of community-based tourism, the Cao Xiem experiential tour is being gradually refined to become a signature tourism product of Luc Hon Commune. In the coming time, the commune plans to maintain weekly Cao Xiem trekking tours on a regular basis, step by step improving the product to turn the area into an attractive destination for adventure tourism in the Northeast region.
