Co To summer tourism season kicks off
On April 26, the opening ceremony of Co To island tourism 2025 featuring the theme: "Co To - Where the waves call back the sun" drew the participation of approximately 2,200 locals and tourists.

This ceremony marked the vibrant beginning of a series of tourism promotion activities throughout 2025, and was also a meaningful celebration of major national events: the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Mining Region (April 25, 1955 – April 25, 2025), the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), and the National Tourism Year 2025.
The program unfolded in four impressive parts:
Part 1: The official opening of Cô Tô Island Tourism 2025.
Part 2: A lively art show with seven performances celebrating the island’s natural beauty, vibrant people, and potential for tourism, economic, cultural, and social development.
Part 3: A beachside dance festival with live DJ performances, creating a youthful and festive atmosphere by the waves.
Part 4: The evening was capped off with a spectacular fireworks display. 108 fireworks setups lit up Ly Thuong Kiet Food Street, leaving unforgettable impressions on visitors.

This year, Co To tourism sector introduces a fresh approach with the slogan "Green tourism - clean experiences - civilized destinations," offering a range of new products and services that promote eco-friendly, sustainable travel experiences.
Co To district continues to invest in infrastructure upgrades and expand visitor experiences through new sightseeing tours to pristine islands, promoting "local tourism" tied to fishermen’s culture, and enhancing high-quality services through digital platforms.

Highlights of this year’s season include the launch of electric sightseeing tours, coastal cycling routes, and "plastic-free check-in" spaces. Hotels, restaurants, and tourism businesses are actively participating in the “No single-use plastics” campaign, contributing to building a cleaner, greener, and more civilized Co To image.
In 2025, the district aims to welcome over 300,000 visitors, focusing on increasing both the length of stay and visitor spending. Particularly, the district will roll out a pilot project offering water-based recreational activities and inter-island tours, a significant step towards positioning Co To as a leading "green, sustainable, and safe" destination in Quang Ninh province and northern Vietnam.
