On October 4-5, the program “Cao Ly moonlight festival” will take place on Cao Ly mountain in Hoanh Mo commune, marking the opening of the autumn-winter tourism week 2025 and celebrating the success of the 16th Quang Ninh provincial Party Congress (2025-2030 term).
Set against the majestic and poetic backdrop of Cao Ly’s mountaintop, the program blends traditional heritage with modern artistry.
Visitors will be captivated by a vibrant lineup: the lion dance “Song Lan vong nguyet” (Two lions greeting the moon), powerful ceremonial drumming, Then singing with đàn tính (Tay ethnic lute), soulful Soong Co melodies of the San Chi, the Dao’s Pa Dung folk songs, the performance “Convergence on a moonlit night”, the graceful “Sister Hang under the moonlight”, along with original songs like “Hoanh Mo white clouds” and “Hoanh Mo moonlit songs.”
The event features not only renowned Vietnamese singers but also talented artisans, community performers.
Beyond the stage, Cao Ly moonlight festival offers visitors an immersive cultural journey. Guests can join lively folk games like tug-of-war, shuttlecock throwing, and sack races, shop for OCOP-certified local products at the Cao Ly night market, and savor the flavors of the highlands with five-colored sticky rice, free-range chicken, black Muscovy duck, herbal rice wine, and rustic handmade cakes.
More than just a cultural performance, the festival is a milestone in shaping Hoanh Mô’s tourism brand. It showcases the breathtaking beauty of Quang Ninh’s borderland landscapes and the vibrant cultural identity of its ethnic communities.
