10th Viet Nam–China Border Defence Friendship Exchange concludes successfully

On March 19, Vietnamese Minister of National Defence General Phan Van Giang led a Vietnamese delegation to China to participate in activities within the framework of the 10th Viet Nam–China Border Defence Friendship Exchange.

During the programme in China, Vietnamese Minister of National Defence General Phan Van Giang and Chinese Minister of National Defence Senior Lieutenant Dong Jun, together with delegations from both countries, visited an exhibition area featuring images of previous joint naval patrols; toured China’s Naval Ship 568 and Viet Nam’s Naval Ship 015; and met with commanders, officers and sailors from both sides.

As part of the programme, the Vietnamese delegation led by General Phan Van Giang also visited the historical site of the “Ho Chi Minh Trail at Sea”  at Fangcheng Tourist Port, Guangxi, then toured the Fangchenggang International Medical Opening-up Pilot Zone, and took part in a friendship tree-planting activity.

Later the same day, the delegation returned to Viet Nam via Mong Cai International Border Gate. Quang Ninh’s Chairman Bui Van Khang chaired the reception ceremony.

After two days of meaningful activities, the 10th Viet Nam–China Border Defence Friendship Exchange concluded successfully, fulfilling all planned programmes and objectives. The event demonstrated the active and proactive role of the two Ministries of National Defence in implementing the shared understandings of senior leaders of the two Parties and States of Vietnam and China on defence cooperation and agreed areas of collaboration.
