Vietnam voted as one of the perfect destinations in 2024
Vietnam has been voted as one of the ideal destinations for the new year 2024 by the Sydney Morning Herald (SMH), a famous Australian newspaper. The UNESCO-recognised heritage Ha Long Bay is named in the list of famous spots.
The experienced travel correspondent, Brian Johnston, shares that January of the new year is the ideal time to travel and relax. The reason he advised readers to choose Vietnam for their journey is because of "diversity". Especially, the weather in Vietnam during this time is very comfortable and not too hot.
Boasting a long coastline, and rich and diverse natural and cultural resources, Vietnam is one of the natural beauty spots in Southeast Asia.
Vietnam is lush and green with the great effort of preserving cultural heritage sites of the government and people. Famous spots such as Ha Noi, the captivating old-world charm capital; Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and popular travel destination in Quang Ninh Province; Hoi An, the ancient town with the history of being the most bustling trade port of Southeast Asia; Hue, the ancient Imperial Capital with the famous royal tombs and feast and many more.
Ha Long Bay covers 1,550 square kilometers, with 1,969 islands. The UNESCO-recognized area is 434 square kilometers, forming a triangle with Dau Go Island to the west, Ba Ham Lake to the south, and Cong Tay Island to the east.
Ha Long Bay has received UNESCO accolades twice before. In 1994, it was designated a natural heritage site for its natural landscape, marking Vietnam's first recognition in this category. In 2020, it secured a second accolade for its geological and geomorphological value.
Previously, luxury travel experts at New York-based OvationNetwork also named Vietnam's Ha Long Bay as one of the leading 24 travel destinations worldwide for 2024 and the renowned travel site TripAdvisor listed Ha Long Bay among the world’s trending destinations.
