Turkey topped the list, followed by Greece, Croatia, India, Italy, and Spain, according to data from Google's Destination Insights.
Vietnam was the only Southeast Asian country in the top 10.
The 10 countries with the highest number of tourism-related searches of Vietnam were the U.S., Japan, Australia, India, South Korea, Singapore, the U.K., Malaysia, Germany, and France.
Ho Chi Minh City was the most searched destination by international visitors, followed by Hanoi, Da Nang, Phu Quoc, and Nha Trang.
The number of searches about Vietnam was four times compared to a year earlier when Vietnam had just reopened its borders after Covid.
In the first five months of this year the country received 4.6 million international visitors, more than half this year's target of 8 million but just 63% of pre-pandemic levels.
