Vietnam-China International Trade Fair opens in Mong Cai city

With the theme “Friendly cooperation, links for development”, the 15th Vietnam - China International Trade and Tourism Fair officially kicked off this morning in the border city of Mong Cai. 

Addressing the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, Bui Van Khang, underlined the important role of this fair in fostering the close relationship between Quang Ninh province and adjacent localities in China, contributing to promoting not only trade ties but also cooperation in culture, tourism and investment between the two countries.

The annual fair is held alternately in Mong Cai and Dongxing city in the Chinese province of Guangxi under a cooperation agreement.

This year’s fair returns after three years of hiatus, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It is one of the biggest international trade events in the key economic hub of northern Vietnam and part of the national-level trade promotion program in 2023.

Over 400 booths are now welcoming visitors, including 300 booths from the Vietnamese side and 100 booths owned by Chinese businesses.

Diverse goods are showcased such as agricultural, forestry and aquatic products, food, medicinal herbs, machinery and equipment, raw materials, chemicals, construction materials, electrical appliances, household appliances, consumer goods, furniture, and handicrafts.

The fair also features other activities, including a business matching between Chinese importers and Vietnamese enterprises, a conference on economic and trade cooperation , a forum on investment attraction policies, logistics, and import and export activities between Vietnam and China, field trips to some tourist attractions in Mong Cai, International Golf Tournament, etc.
