Feb. 5, in Ha Long city, Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade (VietinBank) has held a seminar on strengthening investment and development activities in Quang Ninh. Mr Pham Minh Chinh, member of the Central Party Committee; Provincial Party Committee Secretary and other leaders of QNPPC, VietinBank as well as Chief Executive Officers (CEO) of VietinBank branches in Quang Ninh attended the talk.
At the seminar, participants had discussion focusing on some key issues, namely: developing and extending investment and cooperation of VietinBank in socio-economic development activities of Quang Ninh
Regarding to development orientation in Quang Ninh, Mr. Pham Huy Hung, VietinBank Chairman of the Board of Director said, Quang Ninh is a dynamic and developed province. Therefore, in its development strategy, VietinBank wished to be provided with further information to support its long- term investment in the province. Vietinbank pledged to continue investing in infrastructure construction, social welfare, and economic zones development.
Speaking at the seminar,Mr. Nguyen Van Doc- Chairman of QNPPC stated that Quang Ninh pays high attention to in investment activities in the province. These include improving the quality of infrastructure, completing inter-connection system between transport, trade, and other activities. He affirmed that the province will set aside its land resource and provide the bank with the best facilities to develop its banking system and then establish a Banking and Finance Center in Ha Long city.
Mr. Pham Minh Chinh, the Provincial Party Committee Secretary highly appreciated the development of Vietinbank recently. He wished that the bank would have further cooperation with the province in investment activties. Mr. Pham Minh Chinh recommended that VietinBank may interest in some of the key projects and issues of the province, such as: power grid installation in Co To; completing transferring stations of banking and financial services, etc.
Based on the agreements achieved at the seminar, QNPPC will prepare a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement between Quang Ninh province and VietinBank of Vietnam. This agreement is expectedly signed during the Investment Promotion Conference to be held on 23th & 24th February, 2012.
