Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee organized a meeting regarding developing the services of high-speed boats, boat rowing, and kayaking on Ha Long Bay. Quang Ninh’s Vice-chairman, Bui Van Khang, chaired the meeting.
Quang Ninh’s Vice-chairman affirmed that the above-mentioned services have contributed to diversifying tourism products on Ha Long Bay. Therefore, the development of these services is necessary. However, these services must follow legal basis.
There are 39 units operating kayaking, boat rowing, and high-speed boat services on Ha Long Bay. 1,409 kayaks are numbered for management. 240 bamboo boats have been registered as regulated. 56 high-speed boats have registered with qualified drivers.
These services have created jobs for locals and gradually completed a tourism service chain, contributing to the province’s tourism development strategy. In 2019, kayaking service brought in revenue of 4.2 billion VND and contributed 118 billion VND to the state budget. The figure for boat rowing service was 50 billion VND and 4.9 billion VND respectively while high-speed boat service earned 25 billion VND and 1.3 billion VND respectively.
