On Aug 6, in Mong Cai city, Quang Ninh province held a conference to sum up the campaign “30 days and nights” for land clearance and launch the campaign “500 days and nights” to complete Van Don – Mong Cai Highway.
Thanks to active participation of the whole political system, since the launching of the “30 days and nights” campaign on July 15, 2020, after 15 days of implementation, the number of households voluntarily signing commitment to hand over the ground clearance was 1,186, achieving 100%.
At the conference, Quang Ninh’s Chairman Nguyen Van Thang launched the campaign “500 days and nights” to complete Van Don - Mong Cai Highway. Once operational, the project will contribute to fullfilling the dynamic highway system in the North of Vietnam and acting as a road corridor and a transport gateway connecting Vietnam’s North region to ASEAN and China. For Quang Ninh province, the project will help attract investment capital sources to promote border economy and boost socio-economic development, tourism, international trade through Mong Cai border gate, thus contributing to turning Quang Ninh into a modern industrial service province and striving to become a city belonging to the central government by 2030.
