Tripadvisor announces 2023’s 10 best hotels in Vietnam
Readers of the world’s largest travel site Tripadvisor have chosen Vietnam’s 10 best hotels.
La Sinfonía del Rey Hotel & Spa in Hanoi’s Old Quarter topped the list based on a review and analysis of 12 months of data on Tripadvisor collected between January 1 and December 31.
The input was taken from actual travelers and covered more than 1.5 million hotels.
Located on Hang Dau Street, just a few minutes from Hoan Kiem (Sword) Lake, the 48-room hotel opened its doors to tourists in 2019.
Thanks to its proximity to tourist attractions like the Temple of Literature and Hoa Lo Prison, the hotel has become popular with foreign tourists.
It has a rooftop bar that offers 360-degree panoramic views of the lake and Ngoc Son Temple as well as Turtle Tower.
A night's stay starts at VND1.9 million ($81).
Located on Hang Trong Street in Hanoi’s Old Quarter, the Oriental Jade Hotel was second on the list.
It features 120 guest rooms and suites with views of Hoan Kiem Lake, one of the capital’s symbolic historic sites.
The facility has an outdoor swimming pool next to a rooftop bar that allows an aerial view of the entire capital city.
Room rates at Oriental start from VND2.2 million a night.
Located on Ma May Street in Hoan Kiem District, La Siesta Classic Ma May, which opened in 2014, was third on the list.
Just a few minutes’ walk from Hoan Kiem Lake, the hotel’s design features an imposing white exterior and an Asian-inspired interior.
It has 65 guestrooms and suites and a Moonlight Sky Bar on the rooftop floor that offers panoramic views of Hoan Kiem Lake at night.
A night’s stay costs VND1 million and upwards.
Around one kilometer from the iconic Japanese Pagoda Bridge in Hoi An’s ancient quarter, the La Siesta Hoi An Resort & Spa placed fourth on Tripadvisor’s Vietnam list.
The facility has 137 rooms and four swimming pools surrounded by green trees.
All rooms are painted yellow and the buildings are covered by old red tiled roofs, a distinctive feature of Hoi An.
All rooms have a private balcony overlooking the pool or paddy rice fields.
The resort also provides free bus services to An Bang Beach.
Double rooms start at VND1.8 million per night.
Located on Hon Tre Island in the south-central beach town of Nha Trang, Vinpearl Sealink Nha Trang placed fifth on the list.
It has 147 villas with infinity swimming pools overlooking Nha Trang Bay and golf courses.
Room rates start at VND2.5 million a night.
As the largest island in Nha Trang Bay, Hon Tre covers 3,000 hectares and is home to long, sandy beaches and diving experiences.
The island welcomes around 1.9 million tourists per year.
Allegro Hoi An - A Little Luxury Hotel & Spa was sixth on the list.
Located around 600 meters from downtown Hoi An, the hotel houses 94 modern suites with a touch of Hoi An’s traditional features.
The hotel has an infinity pool that is open from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. with colorful lanterns hung around the swimming area.
It also provides free shuttle bus services transporting guests to and from the ancient town and An Bang Beach.
Room rates start at VND2.5 million per night.
Banyan Tree Lang Co in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue’s Phu Loc District ranked seventh on the list.
The resort complex on Lang Co Bay – which is famous for its pristine beaches, majestic mountains and tropical forests – features 32 lagoon pool villas, seven beach pool villas and 10 well-being pool villas.
Golfers can tee off at the Sir Nick Faldo-designed 18-hole championship golf course, which meanders through rice paddies and streams against the backdrop of a mountain range.
The resort also offers visitors unique experiences such as a basket boat tour to explore Lap An Lagoon, where generations of residents have subsisted on fishing, and a tour of Bach Ma National Park.
Room prices start at VND10 million a night.
Located on Vo Nguyen Giap Street, the most beautiful road in Da Nang, Premier Village Danang Resort ranked eighth on Vietnam’s Tripadvisor list.
Covering an area of 15 hectares, the resort is around eight kilometers from Da Nang International Airport and has 111 sea and garden villas that overlook My Khe Beach.
One of the biggest highlights here is that all the villas are surrounded by tropical jungles, making it ideal for families to escape the summer heat.
A night’s stay costs VND12 million and upwards.
Located on Bao Khanh Street just a few minutes’ walk from Hoan Kiem Lake, Hanoi’s Solaria Hotel came in ninth on the list.
The nine-story hotel has 60 rooms boasting traditional Vietnamese architectural features.
It has a sky bar open from 4:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. Here, guests can enjoy drinks and watch Hanoi’s Old Quarter from above.
The hotel also offers daily tour services for visits to Ha Long Bay, Sa Pa and Ninh Binh.
A night’s stay costs around VND1.7 million.
As the only representative from HCMC, the Vinpearl Landmark 81, part of the Autograph Collection, finished in 10th on the list.
Located inside Landmark 81, the tallest building in Vietnam, this hotel overlooks the Saigon River and the eastern stretch of Vietnam’s economic hub.
Some 11 kilometers from Tan Son Nhat International Airport, the hotel has 223 rooms and suites, with room rates ranging from VND4.8-10 million ($205-427) a night.
Its sky-high views are a big draw.
