On October 31, during his working visit to Quang Ninh, Alexander Viktorovich Vedernikov, Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of Irkutsk, and his delegation visited the Quang Ninh City Union of Friendship Organisations and held a working session with its representatives.
At the meeting, the two sides exchanged views and agreed on several areas of cooperation aimed at strengthening external relations and people-to-people exchanges between Quang Ninh City and Irkutsk Region. Priorities include organising exchange programmes for young people and students from the two localities, and promoting the role of the Quang Ninh City Viet Nam-Russia Friendship Association and the Irkutsk Region Russia-Viet Nam Friendship Association as bridges between the two sides.
The two sides also discussed organising exchanges with Vietnamese people who have lived, studied and worked in the Russian Federation, recognising the community’s role in nurturing friendship between the people of the two localities.
They also proposed stepping up business connectivity and promoting cooperation in areas with potential, particularly tourism. On this occasion, the Irkutsk Legislative Assembly delegation visited Ha Long Bay and laid flowers at the monument to Soviet cosmonaut Gherman Titov.
