Vietnam-Sweden Uong Bi Hospital deploys an AI-powered guidance robot to assist patients seeking medical examination and treatment.

In early October 2026, the hospital began using two AI-powered software applications, AI CT AVIEW and AI X-ray VUNO, to assist in analysing CT and X-ray images and detecting potential abnormalities at an early stage. These software applications help screen for suspicious pulmonary nodules, lung lesions and certain signs of cardiovascular and respiratory diseases, providing physicians with additional information to assess and monitor patients’ conditions. The hospital is also piloting an AI-powered system to review electronic medical records and identify inconsistencies between diagnoses and diagnostic test results, as well as potential errors in prescribing medication or ordering tests. The system runs on a dedicated server within the hospital’s internal network. All AI-generated findings are reviewed by healthcare professionals before clinical decisions are made.

Building on its digital transformation efforts, which include electronic medical records, self-service registration kiosks, cashless payments and AI-powered guidance robots, the hospital continues to improve its processes, working towards smart healthcare, aiming to reduce waiting times and improve patient satisfaction.
