According to Sandeep Arya, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to Vietnam, this year's theme signifies that if individuals can improve their health and become better citizens, society will progress and achieve harmony.

The Ambassador highly appreciated this event organized on the bank of beautiful Bai Tu Long Bay. He said that Yoga also demonstrates an important cultural connection and people-to-people exchange between India and Vietnam.

Yoga, a transformative practice, represents the harmony of mind and body, the balance between thought and action, and the unity of restraint and fulfillment. It integrates the body, mind, spirit, and soul, offering a holistic approach to health and well-being that brings peace to our hectic lives.

On December 11, 2014, the United Nations General Assembly designated June 21 as the International Day of Yoga. Since then, millions of people around the globe, united by the practice of yoga, have celebrated this day each year. This global celebration fosters unity and harmony, transcends borders and cultures, and brings us closer to a world of peace and well-being.

The event, which touches on the UN’s own theme of “Yoga for Self and Society,” is hoped to allow for dwellers of all ages to learn practical techniques to implement yogic philosophy in daily life.
