The poetic scenery of Truc Bai Son lake
Located at Hai Ha district’s mountainous Quang Son commune, Truc Bai Son lake, also called a lake on the mountain, with magnificient scenery impressing all visitors all year around, especially in autumn.
Truc Bai Son Lake has a total area of 110 hectares and the amount of water in the lake regularly reaches about 15 million square meters. Water is mainly from some streams in the villages of Quang Moi, Tai Chi, and Lo Ma Cooc.
Irrigation systems were built at Truc Bai Son lake in 1988 and officially put into use in 1991. They have been serving flood control and irrigation for 3,100 hectares of agricultural land in some communes of Quang Son, Quang Phong, Quang Long, Quang Chinh, Quang Thinh, Quang Dien and Quang Trung in Hai Ha district.
The scenery around the lake looks like a charming natural picture on sunny days. Some “lonely” islets are lying on the large surface of water and under the immense sky.
Truc Bai Son lake is home to lots of storks. Far away from the lake lies the cloudy mountain of Duc with the height of over 1,000 meters. In the afternoon, the lake is colored with sunset yellow, making the scenery peaceful and romantic.
