The 2nd phase of Ha Long-Cam Pha coastal road project was open to traffic on May 1, 2023, connecting with the current road to form a synchronous and modern transport infrastructure system in this area.
Having been launched in October, 2022, the coastal road has a total length of 18.7km, including 10.2 km passing through Cam Pha city.
It has six lanes and a designed speed of 60km per hour.
The road runs from Tran Quoc Nghien Road in Ha Long city and ends at a T-junction near Km6 Quang Hanh port in Cam Pha City. The project plays a vital role in connecting, developing and expanding space of the two cities in the Ha Long and Bai Tu Long bays.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Acting chairman of the Quang Ninh provincial People’s Committee, Cao Tuong Huy, said the completion of the road will help easetraffic density on the National Highway 18 and attract more tourists to the locality.
The project is expected to expand the urban and tourism development space for Quang Ninh’s economic and tourism hubs of Ha Long and Cam Pha and improve the material and spiritual life of local residents, he added.
