Reed season in Binh Lieu
Coming to Binh Lieu, backpackers can enjoy the wonderful atmosphere of the highland autumn, the roads for motorcycle trips, the vast slopes of reed grass, etc... Every fall, the reed flower paradise in the west of Binh Lieu blooms again, beckoning tourists.
Binh Lieu has been the most “wanted” destination by tourists, where young backpackers have to travel all the way up to find the perfect "check-in" spot in the reed grass paradise.
Normally, the season of reeds usually starts from October to November. In late autumn and early winter, the reeds are covered with white, blossoming on the vast hillsides and valleys along the routes. The path to reach the reed hills starts from Binh Lieu town, through the village of Ngan Chuong (Luc Hon commune). From there, after about 20-30 minutes by motorbikes or cars, you have arrived at the border patrol road at an altitude of 700m in West of Binh Lieu.
From ripe golden rice fields, ethnic houses looming behind the aniseed forest, setting your foot on the western road is a completely different haven. The first feeling is the touch of coolness in the middle of the vast space with a green color of the majestic national border.
From here, the journey route about 16km long to the border landmarks beckons the footsteps of backpackers. The border route is comparable to the Northwest backpacking roads with dozens of kilometers long, winding along the mountain slopes, which would satisfy the passion for discovery and conquest of travel lovers.
Backpackers consider the "Dinosaur's backbone" as the reed meadow with the most majestic scenery, which is the route to landmark 1305, followed by landmarks 1302, 1327, 1300. The length, slope, and height of the reed field all bring a stunning beauty amidst wild mountains and forests. Walking on a small road in the middle of a high hill, you will have a panoramic view of the wonderful nature below, a feeling of freedom that can only be felt when seen with your own eyes. From here, the eyesight is a natural masterpiece of majestic mountains, winding trails, fields of reed grass white dyeing the horizon...
This year, when you visit the border, the paradise of reeds has changed a little, which is the limitation on the route through the landmark 1297 to the hill of Bac Xa commune, Dinh Lap district, Lang Son province due to pandemic safety and prevention issues. Interestingly, coming to Binh Lieu at this time, after visiting the reed hill, you can also visit the highland villages such as Cao Thang, Khe O, etc... to see the ripe golden terraces on the hillsides, visit the Cao Son or Cao Ly flower garden, or visit the special fair in the weekend.
