Quang Ninh releases 2.3 million fish fries into the sea

Roughly 2.3 million fish of various species were released into the sea at the port of Cai Rong in Van Don district this morning to celebrate the 64th anniversay of the National Agriculture Day. 

The event was jointly organized by the Quang Ninh Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Provincial Fisheries Association and the People's Committee of Van Don district on the occasion of the 64th anniversary of the traditional Vietnamese fishery industry (April 1, 1959-2023).

As reported, about 2.3 million aquatic breeds of various kinds including tiger prawns, grouper, sea bass, etc. were dropped by delegates and local people into the sea.

This activity is of great significance in habitat recovery and restoration in aquatic resources. It is also a good chance to raise public awareness of their responsibility for protecting natural resources in the province.

In 2022, the total fishery output reached over 160,000 tons (an increase of 5.44%). The fisheries sector not only contributes to food security but also ensures national defense security.
