On Apr 23, Quang Ninh’s Vice Chairman Dang Huy Hau chaired a meeting to review the project on comprehentive management and development of sea & island tourism products in Ha Long Bay, Bai Tu Long Bay, Van Don District and Co To District till 2030.
Accordingly, the project is studied based on the viewpoint of tourism development in line with the biodiversity and nature, meeting tourists’ tastes, thus contributing to affirming the brandname of sea and island tourism products regionally as well as improving Quang Ninh’s tourism competitiveness domestically and internationally. The project focuses on connecting Ha Long Bay, Bai Tu Long Bay with coastal areas in Van Don, Co To, Cat Ba (Hai Phong), thus contributing to reducing the number of tourists in the core area of Ha Long Bay World Natural Heritage. The project also estimates that by 2025, Ha Long city will welcome 6.2 million tourist arrivals, Cam Pha city 50,000 tourist arrivals, Van Don district 70,000 tourist arrivals and Co To district 20,000 tourist arrivals.
Concluding the meeting, Quang Ninh’s Vice Chairman Dang Huy Hau requested that the project need to clarify some contents concerning the quality and uniqueness of tourism products, expanding some types of experiential travel, considering the development of tourism routes in both Ha Long Bay and Bai Tu Long Bay, thereby building a complete sea tourist map for this area.
