Provincial delegation pays tribute to heroic martyrs and Comrade Vu Van Hieu
On April 25, a provincial delegation led by Mr. Vu Dai Thang, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, solemnly laid wreaths and offered incense at the Memorial to Heroic Martyrs and the statue of Vu Van Hieu, the first Secretary of the Quang Ninh Special Zone Party Committee.
The ceremony marked the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Mining Region (April 25, 1955 - April 25, 2025).
Half a century ago, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the great President Ho Chi Minh, the Vietnamese people achieved the historic Spring Victory of 1975, bringing an end to more than two decades of resistance against American aggression. This pivotal triumph led to the complete liberation of the South, national reunification, and the beginning of a new era of independence, freedom, and socialism -an enduring symbol of the Vietnamese people's aspiration for peace and prosperity.

On April 25, 1955, after a prolonged and heroic struggle, the armed forces and people of the Mining Region successfully reclaimed the area from French colonial rule. Revolutionary military and political forces took full control of the region, marking a historic milestone in the revolutionary journey of the Party, government, and people of Quang Ninh.
Over the past 50 years, Vietnam has overcome immense challenges, advancing steadily on the path of renewal and international integration. The country has achieved remarkable and historic accomplishments across all fields. As part of this national journey, Quang Ninh, known as a land of outstanding people and rich traditions, has made significant strides. Once dependent on central support, the province has transformed into one of Vietnam’s most dynamic and innovative localities, emerging as a leading hub for industry, services, and innovation in the Red River Delta and a comprehensive growth engine of the North.

In a solemn and respectful atmosphere, the provincial delegation, representing the Party, government, armed forces, and people of Quang Ninh, offered incense and flowers in memory of the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives for national independence, sovereignty, and the people’s well-being. They also paid tribute to Comrade Vu Van Hieu, who gave his life for the revolutionary ideals of the Party and the liberation of the working class and people of the Mining Region.
The Party, government, armed forces, and people of Quang Ninh reaffirmed their unwavering loyalty to the Party and the nation. They pledged to uphold the revolutionary tradition, strengthen national unity, and strive to build a stronger, more prosperous, and modern Quang Ninh, contributing to the continued development and resilience of the nation as it confidently enters a new era.
