Quang Ninh’s PPC Chairman Cao Tuong Huy joined the delegation accompanying Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at the 15th Annual Pioneers Meeting of the World Economic Forum held in Dalian City, Liaoning Province, China (WEF Dalian 2024).
Under the theme "Next Frontiers for Growth”, the three-day 2024 WEF Dalian Conference has taken place in Dalian City, China since June 25. The conference is the second largest in scale after the WEF Davos Conference with the participation of 1,600 delegates, organized with the spirit of being a place to converge and create new ideas, new fields, innovative models that will shape future economic sectors.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Thanh Binh said the Prime Minister's trip is of great importance. WEF Dalian 2024 will be a platform for Vietnam to engage with emerging global issues, trends, and new drivers of economic growth; exchange ideas on development and governance; showcase Vietnam's socio-economic achievements; and promote Vietnam as a dynamic, innovative, and attractive investment destination for global corporations.
This event will help Vietnam strengthen exchanges and foster relationships with other countries, partners, and international organizations, thereby supporting the implementation of the foreign policy set by the 13th National Party Congress.
Quang Ninh’s PPC Chairman Cao Tuong Huy, together with leaders of ministries and some localities, attended the Prime Minister's meetings, including the meeting with the Chairman of Dalian Locomotive Company, a talkshow with the WEF's startup and innovation business community, etc.
He also attended the opening session of the plenary session of the 2024 WEF Dalian Conference. The session was attended by Chinese Premier Li Qiang, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and heads of state of several countries.
The WEF is a non-profit organization operating as a public-private partnership, founded by Professor Klaus Schwab in 1971, and headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. The WEF has about 700 partners, including leaders of the world's top corporations across various fields.
The most significant event hosted by the WEF is its Annual Conference held every January in Davos, Switzerland. Additionally, there are regional forums, such as the WEF Tianjin Conference (or Dalian, China) and the WEF ASEAN Conference.
WEF events attract participation from leading figures in politics, business, culture, society, and academia, who come together to shape agendas at both regional and global levels.
Since Vietnam and the WEF established relations in 1989, cooperation between the two has flourished in many areas. The Prime Minister of Vietnam has attended the WEF Annual Conference multiple times.
Leaders from both sides have also promoted high-level contacts and exchanges, particularly between Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and WEF Founder Klaus Schwab.
